Mariachi Raíces de Jackie Zavala

Mariachi Raíces de Jackie Zavala was formed under the direction of Jackie Zavala with a passion for preserving and sharing the rich tradition of mariachi music. As a professional mariachi group based in California’s 209 area, we proudly serve our local communities while also welcoming opportunities to perform throughout the state and beyond.

We have had the honor of performing at graduation ceremonies, birthdays, serenatas, community events, and many other special celebrations. Our talented members include Yajari Aguilar on violin, Jose Chavez as trumpet leader, Alexa Barriga on second trumpet, and Adrian Vega and Ivan Quintero Ruiz in armonía.

We are passionate about honoring and sharing the beauty, culture, and tradition of mariachi music. We take pride in bringing joy to our audiences and celebrating the rich heritage of mariachi through every performance.

The name Raíces, meaning “roots” in Spanish, was chosen by our director, Jackie Zavala, because it reflects both the roots of mariachi music and the diverse cultural backgrounds of our members. Although we come from different experiences and traditions, we are united through our love of mariachi. The name celebrates our diversity while honoring the heritage and legacy of this beloved musical tradition.
